Runaway barges on Arkansas River hit dam in Oklahoma, a minimum of one sinks


WEBBERS FALLS, Okla. — Two barges that broke unfastened on the swollen Arkansas River have struck a dam in Oklahoma, and a minimum of one sank into the river.

Muskogee County Emergency Administration spokeswoman Tricia Germany says the barges have been carrying a complete of about 3,800 kilos of fertilizer.
