MELBOURNE, Australia — Police say a person has been killed and his spouse critically injured once they have been attacked by their pet deer on a rural Australian property.

Police Sergeant Paul Pursell says the 46-year-old man entered the stag’s enclosure on Wednesday morning at Moyhu in Victoria state.

Pursell says the spouse additionally entered the enclosure after listening to a commotion and was additionally attacked.

Police shot the deer earlier than a paramedic handled the couple.

The husband died on the scene and his spouse was flown by helicopter to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne the place she situation was described as important.

Pursell says the stag was a cross between a pink deer and an elk.
