Flex Alert issued for California for voluntary power conservation


SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — A name for power conservation has simply been put out by the California Unbiased System Operator Company on account of excessive temperatures and excessive power demand.

A statewide Flex Alert has been issued, calling for voluntary electrical energy conservation from four till 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Shoppers are urged to preserve electrical energy when use could be at its highest.

Conservation Ideas

  • Set thermostat at 78 or increased and switch off, if away
  • Cool with followers and draw drapes
  • Flip off pointless lights and home equipment
  • Use main home equipment in morning or late night
