Fireplace breaks out at Brooklyn synagogue

Flames broke out within the basement of an orthodox synagogue in Brooklyn early Friday, the FDNY mentioned.

The fireplace erupted in a storage space within the basement of the Satmar synagogue on 52nd Road close to 14th Avenue in Borough Park quickly after midnight, authorities mentioned.

About 60 firefighters responded and extinguished the flames in about half an hour, hearth officers mentioned.

Nobody was injured within the hearth, authorities mentioned.

The trigger is beneath investigation.
