Brazil gang chief who tried to flee as daughter discovered lifeless in jail cell



RIO DE JANEIRO — A Brazilian gang chief who tried to flee jail dressed as his daughter has been discovered lifeless in his cell.

Rio de Janeiro prisons authorities mentioned Tuesday that Clauvino da Silva apparently hanged himself with a sheet. An investigation has been opened.

Da Silva was caught over the weekend as he tried to go out of a jail in western Rio carrying a feminine silicone masks, a protracted dark-haired wig, tight denims with a pink t-shirt.

Da Silva was a part of the management of some of the highly effective prison teams in Brazil. He was making an attempt to go as his 19-year-old daughter, who was visiting him that day.

Officers say he managed to succeed in the jail’s exit doorways, however his nervousness caught the eye of safety guards.
