The boozed-up Mercedes driver who rammed into a group of Boy Scouts, killing one, was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide for the crash.
Thomas Murphy, 59, admitted to pounding drinks at a golf club on Sept. 30, shortly before he got behind the wheel and hit five members of Troop 161 walking along the shoulder of a road — including Andrew, a 12-year-old who was killed.
Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini Friday that “Nothing will bring Andrew back” — but at least authorities can hold Murphy accountable.
A 16-count indictment was filed Thursday, charging Murphy with aggravated vehicular homicide and assault.
Sini accused Murphy of driving recklessly and causing the death of Andrew and seriously injuring a 15-year-old boy.
